Specialized Care

Support for every stage of pelvic health.

1.

Pregnancy Support

Whether this is your third or first pregnancy, we’ve got you mama! Stay active and strong throughout your pregnancy with safe, guided movements. We help women prepare for childbirth, including tips, comfort and confidence during labor. Breathe easy.

2.

Postpartum Recovery

Whether you had a vaginal or Cesarean, whether it has been a week or 10+ years, we are here to assist in your healing and recovery to rebuild your core line. Build a strong base safely with us.

3.

Pelvic Pain

Pelvic floor dysfunction can show up in many ways, and pain is one of the most common, yet often underreported, symptoms. Whether it’s pain during intimacy, pain related to endometriosis, or difficulty sitting comfortably, we can help reduce your symptoms and develop strategies to help you feel more in control.

4.

Urinary Health

Rushing to the bathroom the moment you feel the urge? Carrying extra pants just in case you sneeze while out? You’re not alone and this doesn’t have to always be. Urinary urgency, frequency, and leakage from coughing, sneezing, or laughing can disrupt daily life, but pelvic floor therapy can help, no matter how long you’ve dealt with these symptoms.

5.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP)

POP can happen after childbirth, heavy lifting, or other strain on your body. If you’re noticing a feeling of heaviness, pressure, or like something is “falling out” of your vagina, we help women manage it and feel more like yourself again.

6.

Bowel Health

Constipation, straining, feeling like you can’t empty your bowels, or leakage can be frustrating, but also treatable with pelvic health guidance. We help women improve their bowel habits, reduce straining, regain control over gas and stool leakage, and restore confidence.

7.

Back, Hip, & Pelvic Pain

The pelvic core helps support these regions as they are connected through the center line, the linea alba. We look at the whole picture to find lasting management and provide you with self-treatment techniques to move you beyond a diagnosis.

8.

Support Through Every Stage

From trying to conceive to women navigating perimenopause and menopause, we offer care and support tailored to every stage of life. We want to help women stay active and feel their best while aging beautifully.

9.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger point dry needling is a specialized treatment that uses thin, sterile needles to target trigger points or taut bands of tight, tender knots within a muscle. These points can develop from injury, overuse, poor posture, or chronic tension, causing pain, stiffness, and referred pain. During treatment, a thin needle releases tension and interrupts the pain cycle, helping relax the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles in the back, abdominals, hips, and legs.

    Anna

  • Beth has been fantastic and upfront about the recovery process, length of time it will take and going me reasonable exercises and tweaks to my exercise routine so that I don’t have to stop completely.

    Erika D

  • I can't say enough good things about my physical therapist, Beth Swakow. Beth is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, always taking the time to explain each exercise and treatment plan in detail. She’s also taught me a lot about my own body/muscles through the injuries that I’m experiencing. Their expertise has made a significant difference in my recovery. Impact creates a supportive atmosphere that makes each visit enjoyable and productive.

    Alexis Rosales

  • Little did I know about Pelvic Floor Therapy before my first pregnancy. And when I got to know about it and went to nearest available one which was an Athletico. I definitely found it helpful and knew for sure I would go back when I have my second child. And then I approached Impact Physical for my second pregnancy. I didn’t know how much better the actual service can be. If I want to say Pelvic Floor Therapy made a huge difference for me, it’s here at Impact Physical. Both Beth and Deja are amazing at what they do, very knowledgeable and give full attention to their client and genuinely interested in the progress and overall well being . I also noticed even all physical therapy clients receive full one on one attention throughout their session here at Impact unlike other places. The therapists are well trained and they work on continuous improvement goals and stay abreast with most recent and updated techniques to treat patients. I loved my time here , gave me huge recovery boost as a new mom, love Beth and Deja and the exercises keep changing every session to give huge catalog of workouts to take home. Really thankful to have such wonderful business in South Loop. Kudos to all the staff for your dedication
